Thierry Doizon : Character Designer

Thierry Doizon is a digital art concept games character designer, he works along with the Gnomon Workshop to create tutorials for professional training. These tutorials are for both amateur artsits and professionals.


His work is influential as the characters he creates show so much personality. What i learnt from some of his work is to draw characters in "T poses" and in other poses that can be classed as natural or casual. His work can be seen on the link below:

Pixar Animation:

Pixar is the leading animation company & it has list of quality feature films, my favorite being the Toy Story series. Their website includes short films, how they design their characters & environments, artist's corner, render-man & more. What inspires me about their work is the realism in the CG of their characters, the amount of work they put in all of their projects is amazing. My future work will always be inspired by them.

F*ck Yeah Concept Art:

This website has an archive of various concept art of which is used by developers for films, animation, character and environment design, comic books, games etc. all the concept art is submitted by various artists and the link to the developers is available underneath every image. 

One of the inspiring works i found is by a concept artist called Jose Luis Vaello Bertol. He has worked as an Art director and a concept artist fpr such games as Castlevania, Jericho and Blade of Darkness.
His work inspires me because the characters he creates are dark and they fall under Villan Archetype. The character I am creating is going to become a villan.

Green Screen Technology Is Amazing!

As a student, filming on location can sometimes be a pain as most of the property is private or restricted. Getting a permit can sometimes take time and most of the time you can be denied permission, that is why green-screen is important when it comes to things like this. It is inexpensive compared to paying to film in a certain location, it is also excellent for stop motion animation. This video has inspired to use green-screen in my future projects.
